interlaken!!

We had a great time in interlaken! It's so completely different than all the other places we've been. It's ridiculously clean and gorgeous with the alps all around us. :) It's been super easy to get around and all the people seem very friendly despite the fact that we don't speak a word of german. Our big adventure in Switzerland was SKYDIVING! this afternoon we packed into a tiny plane with ten or so Swiss men and ventured up to 11,000 ft! It was amazing, a lot different than both of us expected, but we had a blast. :) (and we lived. woot!) We leave tomorrow for Paris, which we're a bit nervous for. . . but it'll be great! we hope. :) adio!

venice.

We went to Venice yesterday, and it was grand! The city wasn't all that crowded, with virtually no tourists! woot. :) Our hostel was especially fun, because we got free dinner--true italian style--a massive plate of tortellini, which is a custom Christmas feast for them. We met a bunch of cool people at our hostel too, we all went to midnight mass together at St. Mark's Basicillica, which was unbelievable! The service was in four different languages, but it was still great! The city was absolutely beautiful, and we didn't really even get lost!! :) well that's about it.

BUON NATALE!! (Merry Chrristmas) We love and miss you all!!

cinque terre.

We had a great time in the cities of cinque terre! They were so beautiful and precious! Plus we were the only ones in our hostel room, woot woot, livin a life of luxury :) We basically just strolled around the five villages and mingled in and out of the little shops, but it was so unbelievably pretty and well worth the stop. Me and bre both want to live there at some point in our lives. :) Quite a few things were closed for the winter, but we still had a great time and it was really nice being in a place with only a handful of tourists. ciao!

roma.

We love Roma! As soon as we hopped off the train we knew we were going to like it. Our hostel is wonderful! At first we were a little sketched out because it is up two flights of stairs marked only by a little taped on sign, but it is great! So small and cute and everyone seems to be super nice. :) In roma we have seen the Trevi fountain, throwing coins in of course, the colosseum, which was spectacular and the Spanish steps. We also saw the Roman Forum, St. Peter's Balsicillica, the Vatican, and we've been to a couple of art galleries. We have also had the best food of my life in rome! It's definitely been Bre's fav part of the city. :) Well that's about it, off to Cinque Terre!

firenze.

We got into florence Thursday afternoon. Our hostel was amazing! Complete with balcony, sauna, pool, bar, laundry, the works! :) Florence was pretty small, but that was great for walking places. We visited galleria dell academia where we saw David! He was fantastic! I don't think any other statue will ever compare. We also browsed different Renaissance art at galleria Uffizzi, ate many delicious meals of pasta and pizza, and saw il duomo! We also went to ponte vecchio, which is a cute bridge with local shops along the sides. Our roommates were very interesting and we were thankful to only be there two days, as there wasn't a ton to do. But it was a cute small town and we really liked seeing all the local food vendors at the local market. :)

Lovely London!

We had a great time in London! We explored all the major sights: Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Hyde Park, Green Park, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Tralfager Square, St. Paul's Cathedral, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben, Covent Garden and more. :) We perused a few of the markets, ate some classic fish & chips, ventured onto the London Eye, and saw Les Mis tonight. It was especially fantastic because we bought cheap seats on the 2nd tier of the balcony and got moved down to the floor level! what luck. :) By far the highlight of London was the Coldplay concert last night though. It really was ridiculous how amazing they were. Not only was their music fantastic, but they were wonderful performers and made us like them 10 times more! (which is saying a lot because we both were in love before) Bre even claimed it was the best night of her life. :) We both really enjoyed London, the people were especially wonderful and made the city fantastic to visit.
as the Londoners say "cheers love!"

p.s. sorry for the lack of pics. . . this hostel's computer doesn't have a usb connector port, so we can't upload any, hopefully that'll change though! :)

Liverpool!

We got to Liverpool at around noon today. We just walked around a bit, browsing local vendors stands and getting used to the city. (Ann I couldn't stop thinking of you their were Liverpool soccer things everywhere!) We found topshop, which was quite exciting, but managed to not get suckered in to any of the other fantastic stores. :) We went to the Beatles' story shop, which had a crazy amount of different Beatles stuff, and grabbed a quick lunch at the Beatles themed starbucks! It was so rad! :) Then we headed on the Magical Mystery Bus tour which took us all of Surburban Liverpool, showing us all the different famous Beatle's stops. We hopped out at Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, as well as George's and Paul's homes. We ended at the Cavern club and pub, where the Beatles played most of their shows. It was such a sick venue, I could only dream of seeing a show there! After the tour, we basically headed straight back to the train station, to come back to London. We made it to our hostel after another trip on the underground and a walk and we're just laying low for the night. So we can have a very long day tomorrow and hopefully (cross your fingers) get a decent amount of sleep, even though we're not adjusted very well yet. Love you all! Heather & Bre
